This week, digital influencers Gabi Lopes, Flay, Camila Loures, Ana Mosconi, and ByPamella are heading to South Africa, with their destination being Cape Town, the country’s capital. The trip is part of the Squad Girls project, created in 2023, which brings together five major Brazilian influencers, friends, and entrepreneurs with diverse profiles and lifestyles. The project, developed by Mundo Mapping, a startup that connects influencers to brands and companies with the aim of showcasing different destinations through influencer marketing, will have the support of TAAG – Linhas Aéreas de Angola, Universal Assistance, a travel insurance company from Zurich Seguros, and the communication agency MAPA360 in 2024.
The use of an influencer squad allows brands and creators to connect in a more authentic way, exploring different content formats. This strategy strengthens relationships, enhancing results such as relevance and engagement, and promotes more spontaneous communication. By exploring Cape Town and its attractions, the influencers, who collectively have more than 73.8 million followers, will have the opportunity to share natural wonders such as a visit to Table Mountain, South Africa’s most famous landmark, the Cape Peninsula, and local safaris. The squad will also share their experiences and stories about the city tour, accommodation options, gastronomy, commerce, and the local African culture.
Mundo Mapping’s CEO and creator of the Squad Girls project, Maria Priscila Nabozni, notes that the tourism sector is increasingly adopting the influencer squad trend. She states that it is strategic for the industry to invest in this branch of influencer marketing. “When we work with a diverse group of influencers, we can simultaneously connect with different tourist profiles, while also strengthening our presence in various communities and strategic audiences. This approach is crucial for the success of brands in this segment,” says the CEO.
The first edition of the project in partnership with Mundo Mapping was the influencers’ trip to the snow in Bariloche, Argentina, in 2023. The goal of Squad Girls is to showcase and present various destinations around the world to the more than 73.8 million Brazilian followers who follow the influencers on their Instagram and YouTube platforms.
